Astrology + Tarot

in Therapy

I have studied and worked with astrology and tarot in consultation since 2006. One of the reasons I pursued a graduate degree in psychology and psychotherapy training was because of the depth of material that emerged in traditional astrology and tarot readings. My psychotherapy experience changed how I use astrology and tarot with clients.

I incorporate divination into a traditional therapy relationship (when you want this modality) because I believe the process of psychotherapy allows us to address persistent issues indicated by the chart or cards at a deep, existential level.

The work we do together gives you the tools to navigate the future without me.

We can incorporate divination into our psychotherapy work like we might work with dreams. With dream work, we circle around all the aspects of the dream—the timing, the metaphors, the associations, the images—until we arrive at something that speaks to you, that’s new, and opens up the therapeutic process together.

If you’re a practitioner or student of astrology or tarot, divination gives us a common language for therapy and self-exploration. If you’re simply curious or a beginner, I can serve as a bridge to these languages, bringing you and the symbols in closer contact. Within the container of psychotherapy, we’ll have the space and time to get into the depth of the issues indicated by the cards or the chart. We also use the cards or the chart to investigate the issues that emerge in therapy, creating an enhanced conversation.

Astrology or tarot in psychotherapy is a highly collaborative and ongoing project. Whatever your interest level, divination can make space to help you know yourself with greater depth and can serve as a catalyst to develop intuition and connection to the unknown.
