Grief Counseling

Nothing is the same. Life keeps moving at its pace, but you feel stuck in another world. A slow world, a quiet world, an overwhelming world. You wish you could go back in time before it happened, but you know that’s impossible.

Weary Griever, your heart is broken.

Some days are better than others. Other days, you feel too sensitive for life. Tearful one moment, angry the next, and then…nothing at all. Work and friends are a welcome distraction. They mean well, but can’t possibly understand what you’re going through. You’re thankful they still try.

You know grief is a process.

but you never imagined you could hurt this much. You want to find someone you can trust, that will be patient with you, but also know when to give a loving push. I’m Sally, a grief counselor in Atlanta, GA and I help grievers witness the unbearable pain of loss. Grief needs expression. Working through our relationship, you can find strength in the darkness and learn to hear the possibilities calling out for you from this new life you never asked for. Whatever the loss—the death of a loved one, an old self, a career, a job, or your health—a full rich life is possible. It’s simply different from the one you were expecting.

Everyone grieves differently.

I will sit with you in the depth and intensity of it all. Bring your rage, your uncertainty, your tears, and your loss of (or strengthened) faith. Come as you are, in grief counseling, I make space for your process. I am a focused and patient presence, meeting you on your unique path through grief, while noticing avoidance or sticky places. I am trauma informed and will bring my expertise as needed.

My clients feel a sense of renewal over time.

We typically meet weekly online or in my Atlanta, GA office so you have consistent support. As we make space for the unknown and conflicting parts of life to exist together, a new kind of gentle acceptance and authenticity emerges. Life begins to change. You feel more alive within it. You even start dreaming about the future again.

If you are ready to take the first step on the path toward renewal, contact me for a free 15 minute consultation at 404.272.4522 or fill out my contact form to start working through loss and embracing your new life.

Anxiety & Depression Therapy

Our relationships form a basis for understanding who we are in the world. If you’re here, it’s likely that you feel depressed, anxious, and disconnected from people and places in your life. You might even feel disconnected from your self or your creativity and vitality.

Maybe you show up to a job or relationship out of duty, but don’t love being there. Maybe you struggle with showing up as the real you, or feel like you always run out of time in relationships before you get comfortable enough to deepen intimacy. Repeating the same patterns and spinning through the same internal conflicts is exhausting.

It’s possible to make the changes you need to feel engaged, comfortable, and deeply connected

to loved ones, work, and the larger world. Better yet, I believe you already have what you need to do so.

Working in a therapeutic relationship allows us to explore and listen differently. I’ll connect with you from a gentle, calm, and nonjudgmental, compassionate place. I want to get to know what it’s like to live your life. Often this level of understanding brings initial relief. From there, we’ll use what you tell me, your dreams, imagination, and our relationship to explore further.

Through our therapeutic relationship we'll work to notice when you’re in relationship (or thinking, feeling, deciding, etc.) default mode and begin to experiment with other ways of relating to your Self and others to create change in the rest of your life.

If this way of working interests you, contact me for a Free 15 minute consultation at 404.272.4522 or click below to learn how psychotherapy can restore your relationship with your self and the world.

Spiritual Therapy

You want to live a meaningful life and have a genuine connection to its mystery. Everything out there, that’s vaster than you could ever know completely. From the outside your life looks successful. You have friends and a decent job, but lately it all feels stale.

Spiritual therapy might be right for you if you’re immersed in big questions like, How do you make sense of the great unknown? How do you understand yourself as a part of it? What do your dreams mean? What happens after you die? Why did you arrive on the planet?

You’re never truly satisfied by the answers you find. Lately, the unknown brings anxiety, panic, and worry. Sometimes it brings sadness, like you’re missing out on something important and it feels like you’re running out of time.

Other people talk about faith or spirituality, but you feel like an outsider in traditional religion

You’re unsure of what non-traditional spirituality has to offer. The internet is full of spiritual guides and quick answers, but it doesn’t feel tangible. You want to feed your mind, soul, and spirit at the same time and you don’t know where to start or where to look in Atlanta, GA.

I’m Sally, a therapist that helps the spiritually curious + disconnected find their own path.

For many in unsatisfying life situations, our spirituality is stuck in default mode. That means we’ve only ever known what others handed us—often our families of origin. Whether you’ve rejected your religious upbringing, and are looking to heal from religious trauma, or simply want deeper meaning in daily life, I will work with you to find your personal connection to everything that’s much larger than, but integral to, your life.

I practice spiritual therapy from a practical + grounded place.

Drawing on my 15 years of experience studying and practicing astrology and tarot, we’ll create an imaginative collaboration to address your particular wounds and goals. I’ll bring my continuing education in dream work, Jungian psychoanalysis, ecopsychology, and mindfulness—integrating psychotherapy with spiritual tools.

I don’t have a healing of faith-based agenda beyond helping you locate your connection to everything “out there” and deepening that relationship. The important point here is that what we’re doing works for you.

My clients often feel relief after the first session, knowing there’s a space to explore without pressure or judgement and where spiritual questions are taken seriously.

Over time, you can emerge with a greater sense of self + a confident relationship to the unknown.

Learn to own your complexity—the shadows as well as what already fits in the world with ease. You’ll start to discern the difference between anxiety, empathy, and intuition. You’ll access not only your intellect, but other human ways of knowing. These changes don’t just live inside, but can impact relationships and vocation.

If you are ready to find the tools to help you embrace rather than push away the unknown, contact me for a Free 15 minute consultation at 404.272.4522 or click below to learn how spiritual therapy in Atlanta, GA can meet your longing for more depth, connection, and purpose in your life.
